This is an easy activity to customize and use with your class. It’s basically a digital pocket chart, which allows the students to sort letters, words, or phrases into categories. (For primary teachers, I’m hoping a picture sort is in the works—hang in there!) This activity would be great for word sorting activities. What other ideas do you have for using this tool in the classroom? Leave your ideas in the comments. Looking for a way to review content area definitions (or maybe review the past week’s Words of the Day)? The keyword match is an easy activity to use. In this tool, students match words or phrases to images. Or, if your students are just learning letter sounds, they could match images to a single letter. Check out how it works in the following video: If you’re like me, when you try to draw a circle during math class, it turns out all wobbly and crooked. Well, Smart has solved this problem with the new Shape Tool! The Magic Pen in Smart Notebook allows you to write temporary notes which will fade away after 10 seconds, zoom in on drawings, objects, or text, and also put a spotlight on key areas of learning.
